Allotments – Chapel Lane, Wymondham

Anglian Water investment and expansion plans for the treatment facilities at Wymondham Water Recycling Centre (WCR), to comply with the five obligations for the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP) is being carried out in line with the UK government’s environmental principles for building a greener future, including improving water quality in the River Tiffey and throughout the catchment area. The compliance deadlines for the new obligations require immediate action to be taken to allow time for both construction and commissioning.

The land area between the WCR and Chapel Lane, was leased to the Town Council since 2006 for Allotments (for a period of 21 years) and in order to meet these obligations the only viable option for the additional treatment processes needed was to take the land back.

Please note that Anglian Water has now taken over the land and closed the Allotment site.

The Town Council has subsequently found suitable land for a new Allotment site, and more information will be available soon.
